Afghan Feast

Our Mission field experience culminates with a delicious Afghan dinner and slide show presented by the family of Amin Jan. The family was granted political asylum here because of the peril they faced through his work as an interpreter for the U.S. military in Afghanistan.

Brandon and Judy Cordes befriended the family and shared their story during our immigration series this winter. The Cordeses
connected our parish to Kate Zaidan of Dean’s Mediterranean Imports at Findlay Market, who is fostering cross-cultural understanding through dinners showcasing the cuisines of Cincinnati’s immigrant community.

Kate met with Senior Warden Kim McCracken, Outreach Chair Leanne Anderson, and Brandon Cordes to plan this newest event in her “Stir: Sharing Food, Sharing Culture” series. Amin Jan’s wife will partner with Kate’s catering team to serve a traditional Afghan feast in the Parish Hall. This is a fabulous chance to learn about Afghan culture and to make new friends.

Tickets for the dinner are $60 and are open to any interested person in the community.
The registration is capped at 75 people. You can buy your tickets here.

A GoFundMe page has been set up, please consider a donation if you cannot attend the dinner.
