Site Safety Preparedness

The Vestry has written a policy for active shooter preparedness, and we are making a number of safety improvements to the building. In addition, we are offering training on how to respond that is targeted to people involved with the worship services and interested parishioners (ushers, tellers, Lectors, Eucharistic ministers, choir, altar guild, acolytes, and Sunday school teachers) as well as special sessions for Preschool and other ministries that happen the rest of the week. We are asking these key people to attend the training, because they have a heightened awareness of what’s going on during the services.

We recommend parishioners watch this 6 minute video “Run, Hide, Fight” from Homeland security, to help you be alert and better able to survive an active shooter event wherever you are.

We also invite all interested parishioners who have an interest in being on an ongoing site safety team to contact someone on the  vestry.
