ALS Walk Sunday September 17th at 11am

Dear Friends in Christ,

In 2014 my wife lost her father to ALS. Our brother in Christ, John Kuyath, today suffers from the debilitating and life-altering effects of this horrible disease. During a recent conversation with John I learned that Cincinnati has an ALS Walk. In fact, one of the Kuyath’s good neighbors, Karen Kremzar, is organizing their own neighborhood team to walk to fight ALS. Karen has graciously invited our parish to join their neighborhood team, and I am most grateful for her love and support for John Renee, and Robert, and for her gracious invitation.

This year’s ALS Walk is on Sunday September 17th at 11:00am at the lovely Winton Woods park. The walk is three miles, and participants are encouraged to walk at their own pace. I absolutely love our 8:00 and 10:00 Sunday morning worship. I would love to see a swell in our 8:00 attendance on September 17th with a smaller number at the 10:00 service so that folks can attend this important walk in solidarity. Or, if 10:00 is really the best time for you to worship, then you have my full support to come to worship at 10:00 and leave the worship service at 10:45 to head up the road to Winton Woods.

My family and I have seen what ALS looks like, and we absolutely hate the disease. Would you consider taking a bit of your Sunday to support John Kuyath, Rick Rutledge, and all those who have summoned the courage to keep loving and living in the midst of this disease?
